Last night, we took a drive in the area where the "famous" Lucas Bay light has been thrilling people for years. I was ninety percent sure we would see nothing. I was very apprehensive about disturbing the people who live in the area. It must be really annoying to have strangers trolling up and down your quiet country road for paranormal lights. Also, I figured we would run into thrill seekers. I am more afraid of the living than the dead. Well, lo and behold, we did see a light! I had the digital recorder going, and it is interesting to hear the exchange my wife and I had concerning what we saw. At first, we are thinking “oh, crap, here comes a car”. As we watched it approach, I began to think that it was not behaving like normal headlights from a car. We traversed the emotions of anger, confusion, fear, and elation. In the final analysis, we saw no evidence of any vehicle or pedestrian with a light. The light quickly vanished and we simply could not explain where it had disappeared to. Was it paranormal? Maybe. It also could have been a reflection. We made two passes and saw nothing. This will require further investigation. The fact that we did see a light when we expected to see nothing is quite a thrill. The digital recorder will have to be scoured for evidence. We only listened to our exchange as the light approached and you can genuinely hear our honest reaction to something unexplained. I beseech future seekers to respect the fine citizens of the area and imagine if you were interrupted at all hours of the night by headlights and noise.
"We believe the dead have a voice and we honor them by listening."
